Paris airport

A quick post to mention that I am waiting for my flight to Yerevan. My brain isn’t working very well, I’m pretty tired... hopefully my next post will include some actual information about what I will do in Yeghegnadzor.

I have been to Armenia only once before, in 2001. At the time, like now, I also travelled alone. I went as a tourist, mostly visiting centuries old monestaries and churches. I climbed Armenia’s highest peak, mount Aragats, where I also ate khash for the first (and only) time, prepared by Yazidi villagers who had tents set up there. I visited Artsakh for 3 days and my heart remained at Dadivank, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. I am very saddened that I won’t be returning to Dadivank now, a site being guarded, as per the peace treaty, by Russian peacekeeping forces, along with several other sites in the region.

This is a very different kind of trip: I wonder what kind of emotions I will experience this time around...
