Montreal airport, departure
And so, I am off... the Montreal airport was quite empty, getting to my terminal was a breeze! Nothing to do anymore but wait, and perhaps contemplate my trip a little bit. I sent a blast of emails for fundraising efforts yesterday, which I may continue to do (time permitting) from Armenia. Nearly $15,000 has been sent to the Atken Armenian Foundation for this project. I am humbled by people's support for this adventure, and I am very happy that I will thus be able to offer a bit of help to people in the Homeland.
I have been informed about the incredible and selfless work being done by people in the relatively impoverished province of Vayots Dzor, under the leadership of the Srpazan (Primate of the Diocese), Abraham Mkrtchyan, through Syunik NGO. A camp has been established housing over 1,000 refugees from Artsakh at Camp Siranoush I believe it's called. Poverty is rampant and the need is great, and the ravages caused by Covid-19 is a huge problem as well. I very much look forward to hearing more about this, and seeing the work done in the region.
Not sure when I will write again, possibly from Paris airport. The adventure begins!!!
